Currently, I am studying at Southwestern University. My most recent position was as the Assistant Scenic Designer. Also, I worked as a Set Dresser for the brand new independent film Party People. Before that, I performed in a student-written and run production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival!
More to come soon!
During this production, I was responsible for creating and collecting all the props used for this prop-heavy production. This included whole kitchen props, trick prop food made specifically to make the script, and handmade breakaway plates. An additional challenge for this show was to do a "green show" where I was challenged to not buy anything. By the of of production, this show had over 80 individual hand props.
Party People- Film Set Dresser, Background Extra, and Social Media Manager
I first joined the project as a production assistant in the art department. After a few days of working, I was promoted to work directly in the art department, just a few days after I was offered a paid position as the films Set Dresser. I worked under the amazing production designer Mackenzie McMahon, she designed each set and collected the needed materials. I would meet with her and she would share with me her vision for the space. I would then take over and dress the entirety of the set focusing on all the minor details to best fit the character.
Working in this amazing production has given me a real-life feel for working on a film. Complete with the 12-hour all-night shifts.
This wonderful show was a 2.5 year long student project. Completely written, produced and run by Southwestern students. I joined in the last year of the project as an assistant. It was wonderful getting to be so close to a full devised piece.
G.H.O.S.T Unit: The Live Event was a hybrid theatre piece that allowed the performers to to share our show both with a live audience and a virtual audience. Giving the actors the ability to perform in multiple locations and reach audiences in their home.
The show was taken to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for two weeks. Unfortunately, just before we were set to preform one of out actors was unable to join us. I took her place and performed as an "Invisible helper" to Alfonzo. It was an amazing opportunity lead by terrific students.
